Call for IACS Board Member Nominations

The IACS Society is pleased to announce open nomination (including self-nomination) and election of active members for several open positions in the next board (2025-2027). The obligations of the board members are to promote and advance the academic activities of the IACS Society, including organizing the summer school, the conference, the dissertation prize, as well as other related activities such as book launches and other events. Board membership is on a voluntary/unpaid basis. To ensure institutional memory and continuity of operation while pursuing inclusion, the board will nominate 6-9 members from the current board, and accept new nominations for the remaining 3-5 positions.

According to the IACS Society bylaws, the Board will consist of 5-14 members. Any active (meaning paying) member is eligible to join the board. Interested members must submit a short bio (one page) of their nominee to interasiaculturalstudies@gmail.com by June 15, outlining the nominee’s scholarship, engagement with the IACS network, and contributions they might be able to make to the Society. The current board will announce the list of nominees by July 1. The voting period is from July 1-15, and the final result will be announced at the General Assembly on July 25 and online later.
