The organizing committee of the 2025 Inter-Asia Cultural Studies Conference at Walailak University, Nakhon Si Thammarat (Thailand), which will take place from July 23 to 25, 2025, invites lifelong friends of IACS to organize special panels related to milestones and anniversaries that coincide with the 2025 Conference: the journal (25th year), the society (20th year), and Kuan-hsing’s Asia as Method (15th year), as well as the Bandung Conference (70th year). The 2025 Conference will be a big gathering to celebrate and reflect on our accomplishments!

The 2025 Conference Committee already has some ideas planned as described in the document that can be accessed here: GoogleDoc. Friends of IACS may take up these ideas and volunteer to coordinate these activities, or may propose new panels/activities that serve the goal of productively engaging with these celebratory anniversaries. Let it be reminded that the panels do not have to be exclusively academic, and can be creative or innovative, which reflects the spirit of the Inter-Asia Conference!

Lastly, the committee is seeking presses who are friends with our Inter-Asia network to come open booths at the Conference, and asks those of you who are more familiar with this scene to suggest names in the same GoogleDoc, so that the committee can follow up with the invitation.

It would be great if you could fill in the document by November 1 (which is also the deadline for the conference submission) as comprehensively and detailed as possible, as it will make it easier to follow through.
